if you want the details…
After I had my first son I had decided I wanted to be a stay at home mom.
The first year FLEW by and all of a sudden my baby was one. That’s about when I started feeling like I wanted to go back to work. I just wasn’t ready to completely let go of being a stay at home mom…
With a lot of praying trying figure out what I was really even wanting…
I started to feel the kinda life I wanted. One that allowed me to be a mom and put my family first but also own my own business.
So I started with the end in mind and found the steps I needed to get there. I am a FIRM believer that you really can figure out anything. If you add that and a love of learning you end up on your way.
With some quick googling I found blogs, books, and people that allowed me to learn everything I could about things like:
- Finance (first job after college was a bookkeeper LOVED it)
- Relationships (not dating but more with all different people in general)
- Health / Personal development
Then I went back into the workforce getting a 100% virtual position as a Content and Communications Manager for the absolutely wonderful and incredibly talented Anne Samoilov.
Spending about a year with Anne I took every minute of that time to learn from an incredibly talendented mom and very successful online business owner.
Eventually my husband and I started feeling that it was time to start our own business. My husband has a restaurant/bar background and I have a bookkeeper/hospitality back ground. Keeping an eye out (and in our prayers) we were able to purchase a sport bar and grill.
Working virtually I already knew a lot of the systems I needed to set up so I could easily manage the business side of the bar from home.
Life moved right along and we were blessed with another little boy. Now days we are blessed to have doubled the monthly sales at the bar and enjoying the blessing of being parents.
The skills I focused on in the beginning have allowed me to keep everything going. It’s still a constant learning experience but every minute is a chance to grow and learn.
So this is my outlet to continue to learn and improve with other motivated moms like you…
